Charles Quane Caine was born at Douglas Isle of Man in 1844 the son of John Caine and Ann Moore. By 1871 he was living in the Gorton district of Manchester and employed as a joiner, but by 1879 was calling himself architect and continued to practice in Manchester until the outbreak of the First World War.  He was a Fellow of the Manchester Society of Architects. There are no known works.
