David Peacock

David Peacock was born in 1860 and articled to Baldie & Tennant of Glasgow in 1879. He later obtained a place in the office of Robert Rowand Anderson, where he remained for two-and-a-half years, working on the McEwan Hall and Scottish National Portrait Gallery. He then moved to London to work for Wilfred John Hardcastle, a pupil of Alfred Waterhouse who was surveyor of Battersea, from about 1896. About 1901 he became assistant to Henry Lord in Manchester. He was admitted LRIBA on 20 March 1911 when still in Lord's office. His proposers were Henry Lord, John Henry Woodhouse and Paul Ogden, all of Manchester.
