The son of William and Harriet Raby, Joseph Walker Raby was born at Orrell. He was in partnership with his father until the latter’s death in 1892 after which he continued the practice alone. Valuer to the Overseers of the townships of Manchester, Hulme, Chorlton-on-Medlock and Ardwick. Following his retirement, he moved to Wolverhampton.
