Son of James Kenworthy and Emma Whiteley, William Whiteley Kenworthy was born in Huddersfield in 1867 and was briefly in practice as an architect in Manchester between 1896 and 1899. Kenworthy does not appear in the Manchester Directories of 1895 or 1903 while the 1901 Census lists William Kenworthy architect’s assistant, resident Battersea. The same year he married Ethel Bostock at Brixton Registry Office.
