William Moseley practiced in London from the late 1820s holding the post of County Surveyor of Middlesex from 1829-1846 and that of District Surveyor of West Islington from 1853 until his death in 1880. He designed a number of churches in Sussex in the 1830s but none satisfied the standards of the Gothic revival. St Thomas, Red Bank, Manchester, (1842-1844) was seemingly the last church built to his designs.
