Remodelling

Transformation has recently been taking place at the 1917 Club in Gerrard Street, Soho, which was opened that year with Mr Ramsey MacDonald as its president. Some time ago the lease of the adjoining premises was obtained and the two buildings made into one but they were never covenient, and now Mr Eric Hayman, the architect, in consultation with Mr Alister MacDonald, the ex-Premier’s elder son, also an architect, has remodelled them out of all recognition. The result is that in their new home the members have more comfort and convenience. [Manchester Guardian 3 May 1928 page 10]
