                    This pair of houses is nearing completion at Silloth, Cumberland. The front elevation faces the Solway Firth, and commands fine views of the Scottish hills across the estuary. The approximate cost of the two houses is just over £3,000. The slightly projecting porches to the front elevation form a pleasant contrast with the plain, unbroken wall surfaces which are relieved by the Italian shutters to the windows. The walls are of local brick, buff in tone, the roofs are of rich brown pantiles and the woodwork is painted green. [The Architects’ Journal, 18 July 1923 page 98-99].
