The Urmston Palace Cinema (architect Percy Hathersall) opened in 1912. The Palace Cinema, as it was later known, had a proscenium 35 feet wide, a stage ten feet deep and two dressing rooms and accommodated 900. The Palace Cinema closed 1957‑64 and was converted into a warehouse. Since demolished.
URMSTON PALACE EXTENSIONS - H. H. Brown, architect, Brazennose Street, Manchester, has prepared plans for the extension of the Palace Cinema, Urmston. A balcony is to be built, and a new entrance and vestibule, together with offices and extra seating space downstairs. [The Bioscope 18 July 1928 page 49]
