Alterations: The Majestic Theatre, Wrexham
WREXHAM - Alterations have been carried out the Majestic Cinema, Wrexham, where a balcony to seat 550 people has been erected bringing the total seating capacity to nearly 2,000. This work involved the erection of a new roof at a higher level. So as not to interfere with the evening performances, the new seating shell was built over the old roof which was subsequently removed. Concrete blocks for the balcony were moulded to the required size at the contractor's works, conveyed to the cinema and dropped into position. On the completion of the balcony, the operating staff transferred to the new projection room built on the third floor. The architects were Gray and Evans of North John Street, Liverpool.
