                    The Derby Arms on Derby Street on the corner of Zebra Street was built for Swales Brewery but was later taken over by Boddingtons and Wilsons. It was still surrounded by the terraced houses of Ordsall as recently as 1972 but in the 1970s, most of Ordsall's houses were systematically destroyed in the name of slum clearance and redevelopment, leaving the pub in splendid isolation. In July 1977 it too was reduced to rubble,
