Opened 18 July 1904. Capacity around 3,000 (1904). Decorations by De Jong, London. Built for Oswald Stoll and Moss Empires as a variety theatre. It became a cinema in 1930. In April 1935 it was renamed the New Manchester Hippodrome. Demolished August November 1964. Era, 16 July 1904, reported that “over 1,000 tip-up chairs have been supplied. by the firm of Messrs Lazurus and Co., London. There are few, if any, theatres throughout the county that contain so many.”
