                    The Brinksway Pictorium was opened on 6th November 1913 and was provided with an 18 feet wide proscenium, a stage 9 feet deep and one dressing room. It was the last of Stockport’s cinemas to be equipped with sound equipment, when a PTA sound system was installed, on 7 January 1935, It was re-named the New Pictorium Cinema at this date and the Brinksway Cinema around 1946.
The cinema was closed on 10th May 1958 for refurbishment but never re-opened. It was used as a warehouse until 1976 but was gutted by fire and demolished after standing empty for two years. Brinksway Pictorium Limited was voluntarily wound up on 1 April 1966.
