BOLTON - The site of the Capitol Picture House, Bolton, is an excellent one situated in the centre of Bolton. The building provides for an up-to-date picture house with a seating capacity on the ground floor and balcony for 1,700 persons. It is also fitted with stage and dressing rooms. A large waiting lounge is also provided, with a café attached. Good progress is now being made with the building. Messrs. D. A. BOLTON'S NEW SUPER - Building is proceeding rapidly on the new Capitol in Churchgate, which is planned to seat 1,700. The scheme includes a stage and dressing rooms, a large waiting lounge, and a cafe. D. A. NEW BOLTON CINEMA - Next Month Bolton's new super cinema, the Capitol, which will have seating accommodation for 1,600, is due to open. Mr. Allman, who is associated with the Picture Playhouse, Liverpool, is one of the directors of the new venture, for which Messrs. Gray & Evans' of Liverpool, are the architects. Norman Rowley, who is well known on the Merseyside, will be the manager. 

BOLTON’S LATEST - Bolton's latest cinema, the Capitol Picture House, Churchgate, is now in final stages and will open in a few days' time. The manager appointed is N. Rowley. Erected on a site which, although narrow at its frontage, extends to a great depth and width at its rear, the new hall is bounded on its two sides by Brook's Yard and Antelope Court. The elevation is of a classical design in white glazed faience. A verandah projects over the main entrance which at nighttime will be powerfully illuminated. The theatre will seat 1,600 and will also have large waiting-rooms and lounges with accommodation for another 1,000 patrons. The main entrance leads into a spacious foyer which opens directly into the cinema. A staircase from the entrance hall leads up to the balcony, lounge and waiting rooms. From the lounge staircases. both sides are directly accessible to the upper and lower levels of the balcony. On the ground floor there is a seating capacity for 1,072 patrons who will have an uninterrupted view of the stage and screen. The ground floor is of special design with stepping on a gradual raking floor. The balcony seats 528. There is a stage and dressing rooms to accommodate most modern cine-variety shows. The whole building is luxuriously furnished. decorated and equipped. and will rank among the most up-to-date cinemas in the kingdom. 

The architects are Gray and Evans, North John Street, Liverpool, who specialise in theatre and cinema work. The building contractors are D. A. Ablett & Sons. Ltd.. Sovereign Road. Wigan. and the engineers are Thomas Blackburn & Sons. L.td.  Preston Ironworks, Preston. Two of the latest type Ross projectors will be installed by S. Lewis. of E. A. Langrish & Co. Manchester. The other contractors are C. P. Ribton, electrical work; Sturtevant Engineering Company, cleaning plant: Brightside Foundry and Engineering Company Ltd., heating installation: Quiggin Brothers, door and window furniture: William Livesey. plain and fibrous plaster; Expanded Metal Company, reinforcement. Musgraves Ltd, sanitary goods; Peakes, Ltd.. balustrading and handrailing; Edward Sharples, Sicilian marble entrances; McIntyre and Sons, armoured doors; Dickinson & Sons. terrazzo paving; Shaws Terra Cotta Company, terra cotta; Haworth & Son, carpets; Beck & Windibank, seating.
