On Saturday afternoon, in the Littleborough Park, Lancashire, the opening ceremony took place of the Free Public Library, which has been built at a cost of £2,500 (from the design of Mr. W. H. Duncan, of Rochdale), by the generosity of Mr. Carnegie. It is a stone building, and adjoins the offices of the Urban District Council. It already contains 3,000 volumes, and there is shelf accommodation for 4,500 more. [British Architect 18 December 1903 Page 466]
