Christ Church, Wharton, Winsford, Cheshire

WARTON CHURCH, CHESHIRE -Builders desirous of tendering for the Alterations and Additions to this church may see the plans etc. at the Parsonage, Wharton, near Middlewich from the 24^th inst. Tenders to be forwarded to Joseph Clarke Esq. Architect, No. 1 Lincoln’s Inn Fields London, on or before the 31^st inst. The incumbent does not bind himself to accept the lowest or any tender. Wharton Church was established in 1843 as a chapel of ease for St Wilfrid’s Church, Davenham, some five miles distant and originally comprised the transepts only. The alterations and additions of 1849 were substantial, including a nave, chancel, and tower. It was consecrated on 20 December 1849.
