OPENING OF A NEW CHURCH SCHOOL AT CALDERBROOK, NEAR LITTLEBOROUGH - A very handsome and commodious school in connection with the splendid edifice dedicated to St James at Calderbrook, was opened on Saturday afternoon last by a tea-party and public meeting. The school is built of stone and the accommodation is of an ample character. The sum of £800 has already been expended and a further expenditure of £200 is considered necessary to complete the building and its requirements. In our opinion it is and indispensable piece of workmanship and its extraordinary appearance presents a very imposing aspect and will, no doubt, in point of usefulness, be considered very desirable.
