The beauties of Coniston Lake will be still further enhanced, in a short time, by the addition of a very pretty church, to contain several memorial windows. Tie original mover in the matter was the Rev Joseph Patch, a native of London, and a graduate of Cambridge; and so thorough was his canvass of the subject, that in a very short time he had collected subscriptions amounting to £1,400. Mr Paley, of Lancaster, will be the architect. [Building News 30 March 1860 page 256]
