Coursed sandstone with red Runcorn stone dressings, slate roof, early English style with some Arts and Crafts details. Most of the church dates from 1891-1892, with the chancel and vestries being added in 1901. In 1926-1927 the tower was completed with the addition of the third stage to a modified design. Documents in the church archive show the original contemplated design, complete with a spire.
