Church of the Holy Cross and Sunday School South Shore Blackpool

Site at the junction of Central Drive and Waterloo Road. Opened on Advent Sunday, 1930 the church and hall replaced a temporary corrugated iron church named the Holy Cross and built on St. Anne’s Road in 1907 as a daughter church of Holy Trinity, Dean Street.

In 1907 a temporary corrugated iron church was built on St. Anne’s Road as a daughter church of Holy Trinity, Dean Street, and named the Holy Cross. On Advent Sunday 1930 the present church and hall were opened. In 1962 alterations to the church meant that it could be consecrated as a Parish Church and this took place in 1965. In 1995, after a fire, the Presbyterium (that part of the church in which the altar stands) was re ordered  In 2007 further alterations, including a new porch, and renovations were carried out.
