The scheme comprised four lock-up shops and two cottages on land bounded by Doveleys Road, Caldy Road and Longmead Road on the Claremont Estate.  Basement 7 feet high, ground floor 12 feet 6 inches high, eaves 22 feet above pavement. Rooms without fireplaces were to be served by a ventilation turret. Concrete and wood floors, brick walls, red tile roof. A H Walsingham submitted a “Notice of Intention to Build” to the County Borough of Salford on 11 January 1910. This was subsequently approved.
