Improvements: Trocadero Hotel Blackpool

The neo classical building clad in white faience near the northern corner of the Promenade and Chapel Street was built by Albert Lindsay Parkinson, to the designs of Tom G. Lumb, architect. The building included a large cafe area, hall and shops and was ready to be let in March 1913. By the following month it was being called the White Cafe.

In 1930 the building was given a new interior and ground floor facade to the design of Halstead Best, and it became the Huntsman. On June 23, 1935, the cinema, which had been closed for some time, re opened as the Ritz. It finally closed in 1971. The basement of the building became a bier kellar and the hotel accommodation on the upper floor was later converted into holiday flats.
