Knutsford Grammar School, founded before the reign of Henry VIII, was reorganized in 1885. In 1913, the Children’s Society took over the buildings for use as a boys’ home. The building was spacious, with enough room to house fifty boys aged 7 to 14. The Home finally closed in 1956.
