The northern part of the brewery site was redeveloped completely after 1901 from which date there survives a plan dated April 1901, signed by Arthur Deighton of Manchester for a new brewery. The deposited plans of 1901 are more or less what was built - a building with stone facing to the west and machine-made brick cladding to the other elevations, culminating in timber roof louvers. The plan arrangement closely corresponds to a plan for a model small brewery published more than twenty years earlier in Scammell and Collyer’s standard source for the industry, “Breweries and Maltings.”
