New Chancel Church of St George Altrincham

CONSECRATION OF NEW CHANCEL AT ST GEORGE’S, ALTRINCHAM - Yesterday the Bishop of Chester consecrated the new chancel of St George’s Church Altrincham. The new building, which is from designs by Mr F R Hawkby (sic), architect of this city, has cost about £1,400, and comprises chancel, minister’s room, organ chamber, and choir vestry or parish room underneath. The whole structure forms a very useful and much-needed addition to the old fabric. [Manchester Guardian 26 November 1886 page 6].
