Opened on 25 August 1928 with the official opening by Gracie Fields taking place on Monday 27 August. Originally planned with 1874 seats, this being reduced to 1724 seats with the introduction of Cinemascope about 1955. Closed 1st November 1975 by firework igniting drapes and screen. Demolished in the mid-1980s and retail store built on the site.
