                            Proposed design

These cottages were featured in James Cornes’s 1905 book Modern Housing in Town and Country but were not shown on Dunkerley’s plan for the Heatly Gresham housing development. There is no evidence of them today, so perhaps this was just a proposed design. It is unusual in that one half of the semi has a gabled dormer and the other a plain dormer; otherwise the two sides are symmetrical. Ground floor accommodation consists of a living-room with inglenook, a large scullery and a separate room for the bath, whilst the first floor has three bedrooms and a WC. [Richard Fletcher]
