PENARTH SCHOOLS COMPETITION. At a meeting of the School Board, on the 13th inst., it was determined to adopt the design submitted by Mr. H. C. Harris, Cooper's Hill, Staines, and to immediately invite tenders for the works. As a rule, the designs sent in were of considerable merit, though nearly all had ignored the great inclination in the site (over 12 feet) Amongst the competitors were Messrs Saines, Seward, & Thomas, Cardiff; Mr. Armstrong, Manchester; Mr. Robinson, Cardiff; and Messrs. Wilcox, Wilson, and Wilcox, Bath. In the accepted design accommodation is provided for 360 children, with a master's house. [Builder 29 May 1875 page 480]
