In 1946 Fred Riley LRIBA FMSA (Brameld and Smith) made a Building Bye-law application for a red brick bungalow with a billiard room in the roof space at the junction of Glencrutchery Road and Second Avenue, Douglas, on behalf of Victor Webb of the Sir Charles Napier Inn, Lower Moss Lane, Hulme, Manchester. At this time Fred Riley gave his address as 81, Upper Brook Street, Ardwick, Manchester 13. Revised plans were submitted in 1948 but the bungalow was never built. By this time Fred Riley’s office was at 284/286A Corn Exchange Buildings, Fennel Street, Manchester 4. {information from Peter Kelly by email]
