                    PROPOSED EXTENSIONS AT LEIGH WORKHOUSE – The Guardians of the Poor of the Leigh Union have decided by a large majority to erect new boardrooms and offices at a cost of £5,200, and new laundry, tramp wards, workshop stables etc at a cost of £5,000. Messrs Mangnall and Littlewoods, architects, of this city, are to prepare plans and specifications. The boardroom and offices are to be erected near to the workhouse at Leigh.
