Proposed “Wilton Theatre,” Cheetham Hill Road, Cheetham Hill
DRURY AND GOMERSALL PLAN NEW MANCHESTER CINEMA - Drury and Gomersall of Imperial Buildings, Oxford Street, Manchester, are to prepare plans for a large new cinema, to seat about 2,500 persons, which is to be erected on a site near the Half Way House, Cheetham Hill Road, Manchester. The site has been acquired by a local syndicate through the agency of William Stratham of Imperial Buildings, Oxford Street, Manchester. Provision will be made for a large restaurant and cafe and also for a covered car park. Talking picture apparatus will be installed. No contracts have yet been placed. Plans are under consideration for a new picture theatre to seat 2,500 persons, to be called the Wilton Theatre, which it is proposed to erect on a site at the corner of Seymour Road and Cheetham Hill Road, Manchester.
