LICENCE FOR HIGHER TRANMERE CINEMA - An application by Mr. Bryce M. Hanmer, Liverpool, for a music, dancing and cinema licence in respect of a building proposed to be erected in Church-road, Higher Tranmere, was granted by the Birkenhead Licensing Justices, to-day. Mr. Cecil Holden made the application and said the building would seat 1,100 people. Its erection would involve the demolition of two cottages adjoining the Black Horse public-house, and it was a condition that the tenants must be found alternative accommodation. The premises would be set back to the building line proposed by the Corporation, and a strip of land in front would be presented to the authorities for road-widening.
