                    Requires further investigation. Exchange Street (previously Boundary Street) has since been re-named Empire Street. Southall Street forms a T junction with Empire Street. The SW corner is part of Strangeways Prison and cannot therefore have been the site. However, the SE corner, shown vacant on the 1889 OS map is now occupied by the Jewish Philanthropic Hall, dated 1906 and with a foundation stone of the same date. The demolition of a building ten years old appears unlikely. Was it ever built?
