                    The memorial stone was laid on Saturday of new schools in connection with the Pendleton Free Church. The building is to be on ground adjoining the church and is to cost about £1,800. On the street floor there will be an assembly room capable of holding 400 people, three class-rooms, each with a capacity for 75 pupils, and an infants= room which will hold about 50. In the front of the building there are to be two shops. On the upper floor there will be five small classrooms and a lecture room. The architect is Mr T Cook of Manchester.
