Following the Second World war, the mill was taken over by English Sewing Cotton Limited, a company which subsequently became English Calico and finally part of the Tootal Group. The factory was extensively re-equipped in the mid-1950's. Closure was announced during early 1980 and the mill ceased production in June 1980.
