Arthur Brooke established his first shop at 23 Market Street, Manchester, in 1869. Brooke Bond first moved into part of “The Hives” on Mosley Road, Trafford Park in 1918. Later they built a large factory for the blending and packaging of tea on Trafford Park Road close to the boating lake (Parkinson gives date as 1922).
