Manchester’s first exchange had been demolished in 1790. In 1805 Harrison was invited to produce a new scheme. Semi-circular plan as at Chester from Paris? Doric style but with attached columns and altered proportions to the architraves and frieze to produce a neo-classical building in Roman rather than Greek styl.
Enlarged by A.W Mills in 1847 8; demolished 1871-2
