Henry Lessey Blore is listed as Wholesale Grocer, Druggist, and Dry Salter in the 1881 Census. The Directories of the period show him living in Cheetham Hill Road with business premises at 1 Withy Grove, a few yards from the Corn Exchange. The warehouse at Primrose Street would have been close to the Lancashire and Yorkshire Goods Station in Oldham Road and was presumably intended solely for the storage of goods brought by the railway.
