The Wesleyan Methodist Church, also known as the Wesleyan Chapel, was built in 1808. A new façade was added in 1876. The church then seated over a thousand, and was the largest Nonconformist place of worship in the town at the time The church closed in 2009, after the congregation moved to the former Methodist schoolrooms opposite. Later converted to residential use - architect Ollier Smurthwaite King Street Manchester.

NANTWICH - The Wesleyan chapel at Nantwich is about to be considerably enlarged, by bringing the facade some 11 ft. in advance of the old front. The architect, Mr. G. B. Ford, of Burslem, has adopted the Italian style for the new elevation, the windows having semi-circular heads. The centre of the new front projects beyond the side portions. The entrance is by two bold twin doorways, with rounded lights over them, while above them, and lighting the new gallery, will be a three-light window of large dimensions. The whole front is to be built of pressed red brick, with a heavy plinth and facings of cream, coloured Hollington stone. Tho builder is Mr. Matthews, whose contract will amount to about £1,000.
