This church is now in course of erection on a new site adjoining the present church and schools. Accommodation is provided for 534 adults, 468 sittings on the ground floor and 66 in the small gallery over the vestibules. The materials used are Yorkshire parpoints, with red sandstone dressings. The internal joinery will be pitch pine. The heating will be carried out on the low pressure system. Mr S J Hodgkiss of Farnworth, Bolton is the contractor. The architect is Mr A Brocklehurst of Waterfoot, Manchester. [Building News 12 September 1902 page 359]
