An estate agent listing of 2018 stated that this house was built in 1923 by the architects Taylor and Young. A plaque on the house records the date AD 1923 and the letters L S. the initials of Louisa Sawer, who lived at the house until her death in 1930, when it was put up for sale. She was the widow of James Featham Sawer, a manufacturer of gas meters, who had died in 1900, and they previously lived on Wellington Road in Stockport. [Richard Fletcher]
