Dunkerley built this cottage in 1929 as a wedding present for his nephew, Eric Walter Dunkerley, the eldest son of his brother William. It was situated only a short distance from William's house, Meadowlands. Pevsner notes that the roof used old beams from a nearby barn that was being demolished. [RF]
