Harold Greenhalgh commenced independent practice about 1924 with offices in Mawdsley Street, Bolton. Almost all of his commissions were for the Roman Catholic church. In the early 1950s Harold Greenhalgh entered into partnership with Geoffrey S Williams under the style Greenhalgh and Williams. In the later half of the twentieth century the practice became one of the most prolific Catholic architects in the region.
