The new Roman Catholic Church of Our Lady and St John was opened yesterday at Chorlton-cum-Hardy. The new church, which accommodates 600 worshippers, replaces the former Church of St Augustine, which for some tome has been found quite inadequate. [Manchester Guardian 13 June 1927 page 11]
