Stephen Hall Andrew

The son of John Andrew and Sarah Fielding, Stephen Hall Andrew was born on 29 August 1809 and christened at the Unitarian Church, Manchester on 15 October 1809.  He was in partnership with Thomas Wright, one of the few architects in Manchester in the Georgian period until 31 December 1838, before commencing business on his own account, advertised as follows: A CARD – S H Andrew, Architect, Surveyor and Valuer of Land, Buildings, and Artificers’ Work, Valuer of Townships for Assessments etc.:Land Building and Chief Rent Agent etc. offices 14 Cooper Street, Manchester. (Late Wright and Andrew). [Manchester Guardian 2 January 1839 page 1, and 5 January 1839 page 4].  In 1840-1841, he was briefly in partnership with Willami Wilson junior as architects, surveyors, land and building agents, valuers etc. with offices at 14 Cooper Street Manchester.

 Stephen Hall Andrew died on 5 June 1842, aged 32 years, and was buried at St John’s Church, Manchester.
