Thomas Dickson
- Born 1812 Scotland
- Married 1849 Jane Helen Renton at Musselburgh, Scotland
- Died Unknown
Thomas Dickson was born in Scotland but moved to Manchester where he acted as resident architect at Worsley New Hall for E Blore (qv). By April 1843 he had joined Richard Tattersall in partnership. In 1842 Richard Tattersall had obtained what was to prove his last commission, the Moral and Industrial Schools at Swinton a massive undertaking for the Manchester Board of Guardians. Work the Moral and Industrial Schools was to prove too great a strain on Richard Tatterhall’s health and he was to die in confinement in 1844. Dickson then took William Hayward Brakspear, into partnership and together they completed the work. The partnership with Brakspear was dissolved on 31 December 1849 after which Dickson worked alone for the next two years. He last appears in the Manchester directory of 1853.
