Although a site was gifted by Mrs Hague in March 1910, the scheme was not progressed (probably on grounds of cost). In May 1911 a committee was convened to plan a new Parish Hall and Institute at an estimated cost of £650. The building was formally opened by Mrs Wakeham on 11 November1913, after which the Parish Magazine was advertising a Literary Society, a Billiards League, and several lectures in the new building.
