In 1922 Joseph Emberton was taken into partnership by Percy James Westwood (1878-1958) who had built up a good practice in commercial and retail work, particularly shops and trade exhibitions, through contacts such as that with Austin Reed Limited. The partnership ended on 1 December 1926. Percy Westwood continued the practice at 7 Adam Street, Adelphi, W.C.2, while Joseph Emberton took offices at Chesham House, 150 Regent Street, London W1.
