Alan Wiseman Hornabrook

Alan Wisemam Hornabrook, was born in 1887 at West Derby Liverpool. His father the Revd John Hornabrook (1848-1937) was President of the Methodist Conference and Chairman of the Wesleyan Chapel Committee. He was educated at Manchester Grammar School and attended Salford Technical College 1911-1912. During the First World War he served in France as 2nd Lieutenant 5th Battalion Manchester Regiment and after the war he joined the Manchester office of Arthur Brocklehurst and Company and had certainly been taken into partnership by 1922. The practice was responsible for almost a quarter of all Central Methodist Halls of the inter-war period. Alan Wisemam Hornabrook was elected LRIBA in 1925.
