Charles Albert Hindle was born in Liverpool in 1863, the son of Thomas Hindle, a builder’s foreman and his wife, Sarah.  He was articled to Messrs Bromilow & Cheers, architects, (qv) of Liverpool 1880-3. Improver with the firm of Taylor, Hurrell & Taylor 1883. Assistant to Thomas C Clarke of Liverpool 1883. Chief draughtsman with Edward H Banner 1884-1892. Architect (temporary) H M Office of Works. Travelled in France.He passed the qualifying examination in 1891 and was elected ARIBA 7 Mar 1892: proposed by T H Harrisson, H L Beckwith, H Hartley.
