The son of Charles Sisley, plumber, and Selina, his wife, Henry Sisley was born in Reading, Berkshire, and originally trained as a carpenter. He appears to have moved to Cheshire following his marriage, at which time he was employed as an architect’s assistant. By 1914 he had commenced independent practice in Manchester in partnership with Percy Hoy. This partnership was dissolved in 1918 at whhich time he commenced partnership with (unidentified) Platt at 66 Deansgate, Manchester. LRIBA 1911.
